The Dwarfs are the immovable object of Blood Bowl. Where other teams dance around their opponents, the Dwarfs simply plant their boots and dare anyone to move them. With AV10+ on Longbeards, Blitzers, and Linemen, and a roster absolutely loaded with Block and Tackle, a Dwarf team is built from the ground up to win the war of attrition. They might be slow, but they are nearly impossible to knock off the pitch.
The key to understanding Dwarfs is that they control the game through denial rather than flair. Longbeards start with Block and Tackle, making them the perfect answer to any opponent who relies on Dodge. Blitzers add Block and Thick Skull with Tackle, while Troll Slayers bring the pain with Block, Frenzy, Dauntless, and Thick Skull -- a terrifying combination against big guys. Runners with Sure Hands ensure the ball stays safe, and the infamous Deathroller is the ultimate secret weapon, a ST7 AV11+ monster that can flatten almost anything in its path.
The Dwarf weakness is simple and obvious: speed. At MA4 for most of the roster and MA5 for Blitzers and Troll Slayers, the Dwarfs are one of the slowest teams in the game. They struggle to chase down fast opponents, and a single defensive breakdown can result in a quick score that the Dwarfs cannot hope to answer in time. Dwarf coaches must accept this limitation and instead focus on making the game as slow and painful as possible for everyone involved.

Strengths

Tips & Strategy
- Set up a grinding cage and advance slowly -- do not try to match faster teams at their own game
- Use Troll Slayers on the flanks where their Frenzy can push opponents toward the sideline
- Deploy the Deathroller on your receiving drive for maximum impact before it gets sent off
- Develop Guard and Mighty Blow on your Longbeards to make the line of scrimmage even more dominant
