Halfling
Tier 3About
Halflings are the lovable underdogs of Blood Bowl, a team of diminutive, pot-bellied players who have absolutely no business being on a professional Blood Bowl pitch -- and yet there they are, game after game, fuelled by nothing but optimism, second breakfasts, and the occasional intervention of a Treeman. The Halfling Thimble Cup may not carry the prestige of other tournaments, but its competitors play with a heart that bigger teams often lack.
The Halfling roster is built around cheap Halfling Hopeful linemen who bring Dodge, Right Stuff, and Stunty to the table but precious little else. At ST2 and AV7+, they fold like parchment under any real pressure. The real stars are the two Treemen, massive ST6 players with Mighty Blow +1 who can both dish out devastating blocks and hurl Halflings downfield with Throw Team-Mate. Halfling Catchers add a touch more speed, while the Hefty provides a slightly sturdier option.
Coaching Halflings is an act of stubborn defiance against the odds. You will be outpunched, outmuscled, and frequently humiliated. But a well-timed Halfling toss into the end zone, a Treeman standing firm against an entire blitz, or simply surviving a match with most of your team intact creates moments of triumph that no tier-one team can replicate. The Halfling experience is not about winning -- it is about making your opponent earn every single point.

Strengths
- Treemen are devastating with ST6, Mighty Blow +1, and Throw Team-Mate for aerial touchdowns
- Extremely cheap roster allows a full bench and generous inducement money
- Dodge and Stunty on Halflings let them slip through tackle zones with ease
- Halfling Thimble Cup special rule and access to an apothecary help with roster survival
Weaknesses
- ST2 on most players means Halflings cannot win any blocking contest without major assists
- AV7+ is the worst armour value in the game, leading to constant casualties
- Treemen suffering Take Root can become immobilised at the worst possible moment
- Almost no natural access to strength or blocking skills on positional players
Tips & Strategy
- Master the Throw Team-Mate play -- it is your most reliable path to scoring touchdowns
- Use your inducement money wisely; a Halfling Master Chef can steal opponent rerolls and swing the game
- Keep Treemen near the action but avoid moving them unnecessarily to reduce Take Root risk
- Focus on having fun and setting up memorable plays rather than grinding for a win
