Nurgle
Tier 2About
Nurgle teams are the disgusting darlings of the Plague God, shambling onto the Blood Bowl pitch trailing clouds of flies, pustulent sores, and an indescribable stench. They are not fast, they are not agile, and they certainly are not pleasant to be around -- but they are extraordinarily difficult to move. Built around the concepts of disruption and attrition, a Nurgle team does not so much play Blood Bowl as inflict it upon the opposition.
The backbone of the team is formed by the Bloaters, Strength 4 walls of diseased flesh who carry Disturbing Presence and Foul Appearance to make life miserable for anyone standing near them. The Rotspawn, a Strength 5 monstrosity with Tentacles and Mighty Blow, anchors the center and punishes anyone foolish enough to try running past. Pestigors provide the closest thing to speed and ball handling the team can muster, while Rotters serve as expendable linemen who can be replaced through the Plague Ridden mechanic.
Coaching Nurgle requires embracing the grind. You will not outscore opponents with flashy plays. Instead, you will suffocate their game plan by clogging lanes with Disturbing Presence and Foul Appearance, forcing failed blocks and dropped passes simply by existing. When your Rotters fall, opposing players may rise as new recruits for the Plague God. Patience and positional play are your greatest weapons.

Strengths
- Disturbing Presence and Foul Appearance disrupt opposing passing and blocking across the pitch
- Incredibly tough to move with high strength and Regeneration on most players
- Plague Ridden can convert killed opponents into new Rotters, replacing your losses
- Rotspawn is a terrifying centerpiece with ST5, Tentacles, and Mighty Blow
Weaknesses
- Extremely slow across the roster with most players at MA4 or MA5
- Very poor ball handling and agility make scoring a challenge every drive
- Rotters have the Decay trait, making them even more fragile than standard linemen
- No apothecary and reliance on Regeneration means bad luck can snowball quickly
Tips & Strategy
- Maximise Disturbing Presence coverage by spreading your Bloaters to affect as many opposing players as possible
- Use the Rotspawn's Tentacles to lock down key opposing ball carriers or blitzers in the center
- Do not chase the ball -- let opponents come to you and use your disruption aura to force mistakes
- Develop Guard and Mighty Blow on Bloaters to turn them into even more formidable road blocks
