The Shambling Undead are Blood Bowl's classic horror show, a nightmarish procession of reanimated corpses and restless spirits held together by dark necromantic will. At the heart of the team stand the Mummies, towering pillars of ancient wrappings and terrible strength that can flatten almost anything foolish enough to stand in their path. Behind them, Wights provide reliable leadership with their natural Block skill, acting as the team's enforcers and playmakers.
The real secret weapon of the Shambling Undead is the Ghoul. Fast, agile, and utterly mortal, Ghouls are the only players on the roster who lack Regeneration, making them precious and vulnerable in equal measure. A skilled coach will use the expendable Skeletons and Zombies to form a grinding cage while the Ghouls dart through gaps to deliver the ball to the end zone. It is a simple formula, but devastatingly effective when executed with patience.
What makes this team so enduring in the competitive scene is its resilience. Regeneration means that even when players go down, they often get back up. The Shambling Undead do not need an apothecary because most of their roster simply refuses to stay dead. Combined with powerful Mummies that can dominate the line of scrimmage, this is a team that wears opponents down through sheer attrition and then punishes them with a well-timed Ghoul breakaway.

Strengths
- Mummies with ST5 and Mighty Blow +1 dominate the line of scrimmage

Weaknesses
- No passing game -- no thrower position means one-dimensional offense

- No access to an apothecary, so Ghoul injuries are permanent
Tips & Strategy
- Protect your Ghouls above all else -- they are your only reliable scoring option and cannot regenerate
- Use Mummies to anchor the line and create casualties; their Mighty Blow +1 is your attrition engine
- Develop Block on Ghouls early to keep them alive and Sure Hands to secure the ball
- Play the slow grind game on offense, forming a cage and advancing methodically each turn
