Wood Elf
Tier 1About
The Wood Elves are the purest expression of agility football in Blood Bowl, a team so fast and so fragile that every game feels like a high-wire act performed without a safety net. Built around the legendary Wardancers -- who come with Block, Dodge, and Leap as standard -- the Wood Elves can dance through defensive lines that would stop any other team dead. Add in Catchers with MA8 and Dodge, Throwers with Pass, and linemen who are all MA7 with AG2+, and you have the fastest overall roster in the game.
The Treeman provides an anchor of sorts, with ST6, Mighty Blow +1, and Throw Team-Mate offering both a defensive pillar and a catapult for desperate scoring plays. However, Take Root means the Treeman will periodically decide to plant itself and become immovable, which can be as much a hindrance as a help depending on positioning. The rest of the team operates around this living obstacle, flowing like water around a rock.
The great challenge of coaching Wood Elves is keeping them alive. With AV8+ across the entire roster, even Linemen, every block is a potential disaster. A single bad half can see multiple players carried off the pitch, and unlike bash teams, Wood Elves cannot afford to lose bodies. Every player matters, every hit taken is a risk, and the margin for error is razor-thin. But when a Wood Elf team is fully healthy and in rhythm, there is simply nothing in Blood Bowl more beautiful or more devastating to watch.

Strengths
- Wardancers with Block, Dodge, and Leap are arguably the best positional players in the game
- Fastest overall roster with MA7+ on every player and Catchers reaching MA8
- AG2+ across the board makes ball handling, dodging, and passing extremely reliable
- Treeman with ST6 and Throw Team-Mate provides both a defensive anchor and a scoring catapult
Weaknesses
- AV8+ across the entire roster makes every player extremely vulnerable to injury
- Cannot afford to trade hits -- losing even one or two key players can cripple the team
- Treeman with Take Root can become stuck in unhelpful positions and block your own movement
- Very expensive positionals mean a thin bench with little room for casualties
Tips & Strategy
- Avoid unnecessary contact at all costs -- every block your players take is a risk you cannot afford
- Use Wardancers as your primary ball retrievers; Leap lets them bypass tackle zones to reach the ball
- Score in as few turns as possible on offense to minimize the time your players spend in danger
- Position the Treeman carefully before Take Root triggers; once rooted, it cannot be repositioned
